In short: for a gluten-free afternoon tea, Greenhills Country House offers one from 2.30pm to 5pm (£30), with GF cakes and scones. For cakes to take away, Flour Patisserie's NGCI cupcakes and banana bread are the standouts. For pudding after dinner, Corbière Phare, The Windmill and Enotèca all label proper GF desserts.

Gluten-free afternoon tea
- Greenhills Country House (St Peter): afternoon tea served 2.30pm to 5pm, £30 per person, with gluten-free available. Its vegan afternoon tea (same price and times) includes carrot cake, chocolate tiffin and lemon loaf marked GF, and the Jersey Cream Tea (£10.50) can be made gluten free or vegan. Book ahead and say you need gluten free.
- Biarritz Hotel (St Brelade): serves afternoon tea, booked 24 hours ahead. Its menu doesn't label gluten-free items, so ask when you book.
Cakes and bakeries
- Flour Patisserie (St Helier): NGCI cupcakes (Belgian chocolate, Madagascan vanilla and red velvet, £4), carrot and pecan cake (£7), and vegan NGCI banana bread (£4.25). Several of the NGCI bakes are vegan too. Worth calling about whole celebration cakes.
- Love Cake (Trinity): a GF strawberry cheesecake, and sandwich platters that can be made GF.
- Locke's Coffee & Grub (St Helier): a GF chocolate brownie (£4) with your coffee.
- The Lookout: a GF cake of the day (£4.75).

- Lucie's Boulange (St Helier): known for keeping gluten-free bakes in stock.
- Ransoms Garden Centre (St Martin): the café usually has a gluten-free cake or two.
- TJ's Bake and Browse (Georgetown): Jersey's first dedicated gluten-free shop, opened November 2025. It's a shop rather than a café, for taking bakes home.
Treat-hunting tips
- Ask how GF cakes are stored. Unwrapped GF cake in a shared cabinet picks up crumbs. Wrapped or separately stored bakes are safer for coeliacs.
- Watch the oats. Flapjacks and granola bars often use ordinary oats, which aren't gluten free.
- Call ahead for whole cakes. Bakeries often make GF celebration cakes to order, even when they're not on the website.
- Book afternoon tea in advance and say you need gluten free, so the kitchen can plan for it.
